Replacing the Battery

The PEAR heart monitor is powered by a CR-2032 lithium battery. If the heart monitor is not showing in the Connect Sensors screen, despite taking proper connection steps, it may be time to replace the battery. The battery indicator will warn you as the power is getting low. 

To replace the battery, follow the instructions below:

1. Use a coin to unscrew the casing and remove the battery from the monitor. You may need to use a paperclip to push down the small metal piece that holds the battery in place.

2. Take the new battery, flip it upside down and reinstall upside-down in the casing for a few seconds. 

4. Flip the battery right-side up to its correct position. Make sure that you push it down completely so it is held tight by the small metal piece.

5. Reinstall the battery and screw on the case cover, making sure to retain the gasket, which ensures a watertight seal. If the gasket is missing, it could allow moisture in and cause corrosion and damage.

Note: The heart monitor is sending a Bluetooth signal and is therefore using battery when both ends of the monitor are connected to the strap. To save battery and disable the Bluetooth signal, be sure to remove the monitor from the strap when not in use.

When the PEAR Sports app is on, it will constantly search for your Bluetooth signal, so we recommend closing PEAR Sports app when not in use.
